What Is A Snagging Survey?

A snagging survey intends to check for problems with a new-build home.
The best time to have a snagging survey is between the completion of the building work and your legal completion date, so the house builder has enough time to fix any issues before you move in.
Unlike traditional building surveys, a Snagging Survey covers minor issues, such as doors that don’t close correctly or loose floor tiles in the kitchen, as well as more serious structural problems.
The most common issues involve plastering, tiling, skirting boards, joinery, and external brickwork.
The NHBC also provides a dispute resolution service that you can use if you have a dispute with your developer over problems with your property. Click here for more information.
